Savory and slightly sweet, this Warm Bacon Dressing takes a salad to another level! This simple vinaigrette is a delicious addition to a dinner party salad or to amp up salads, pastas, roasted veggies and more.

Spoonful of warm bacon dressing over bowl

Do you have that one sauce you put on everything? Add this one to your list! This dressing is out of the park good! With crispy pieces of bacon, tangy apple cider vinegar and an ever-so-slight sweetness from the brown sugar, you will be hunting for ways to use this dressing.

If you are hosting a dinner party at home, you can easily whip this up and serve it warm from a pretty gravy boat. Since small pieces of onion and bacon are already added, it doubles as toppings too!

The ingredients are simple, and I’m sure you have most of these already in your pantry.

How to Make Warm Bacon Dressing

We’ve put this on risotto, pasta, roasted veggies… We even sop up what’s left with a piece of crusty french bread. There’s something elegant about this multi-use dressing: It really kicks a plain ole salad up a notch!

First, dice the bacon and onion. If the bacon has a lot of fat, feel free to trim away. I like to brown the onion and bacon in a cast iron skillet.

Then you add in the rest of the ingredients and microwave!

I start off using a Pyrex bowl to microwave to make whisking easier, then I transfer to a Mason jar for space-saving storage! These jars are fantastic for homemade dressing storage. We also freeze soups and broths using these jars. They are great to keep on hand!

Mixing Salad Dressing

Since this recipe uses cornstarch, the length of cooking time is important to completely dissolve the corn starch. Otherwise your dressing may come out chalky. If you need to add additional cooking time, it will not affect the recipe.

Tip: You could also make this over the stove, but it will require more hands-on time. I like to just pop in the microwave and keep going!

If you are not using right away, I like to store in a Mason jar so it doesn’t take up much space in my fridge and it’s easily reheated for next time. Don’t forget to remove the metal lids before heating!
